چکیده
Composites are presently the most developing and particularly attractive special-purpose construction materials for ballistic applications, among others. They are the basic raw materials used in the production of composite ballistic shields, such as shrapnel and bullet-proof helmets, means of transport armour, bullet-proof shields, explosion protection, additional ballistic insets for shrapnel and bullet-proof vests, etc. The term “composite” means a non-homogeneous material structure. Composites may be composed of metal and non-metal materials used in various combinations. By selecting the right components, you can obtain a composite material that has the required properties and therefore allows to achieve benefits like lower weight, greater impact strength and better energy absorption. The above properties are strongly impaired if a composite develops defects (in the technological process as well as subsequent use) such as ply separation, air bubbles and delamination, which are usually created as a result of impacts. The Authors propose a thermal model of a composite material with introduced defects, which allowed to conduct a series of computer simulations to locate the inclusions and decrements in the composite [1,2,4-6,9-10].

Experimental Detection of Composite Delamination Damage based on Ultrasonic Infrared Thermography
An experimental setup is designed to detect composite delamination damage based on ultrasonic infrared thermography. The ultrasonic infrared thermography system is composed by ultrasonic excitation system, infrared thermal imager and data acquisition system and two damaged composite plate specimens are produced in the experiment. The image processing methods including thresholding, filters, edg...

متن کاملLock-in Thermography Image Procesing
Composite materials have appropriate thermal properties for detection flaws by means of non-destructive infrared thermography methods. Infrared thermography methods are based on tracking heat flow that has been induced by flood lamps. Lock-in thermography, as one of infrared thermography methods, is used in detection of flaws. Surface of specimen is periodically heated by heat flow in form of s...
متن کاملA Combined integral transform asymptotic expansion method for the characterization of interface flaws through stimulated infrared thermography
This work is devoted to the nondestructive evaluation of materials using stimulated infrared thermography. The proposed approach provides simple analytical solutions to evaluate the lateral extent, and the thickness of a plane flaw in a three-dimensional (3D) heat transfer configuration. It is based on the application of a Laplace transform on the time variable t, then a double Fourier transfor...
